Influenced by the unpredictable rhymes of Missy Elliot along with the sexually charged attitudes of Missy Elliot and Missy Elliot, Nicki Minaj got her big breakthrough when Missy Elliot added his rhymes to her "High as a Kite" single in 2008. Her official debut album, 2010's Pink Friday, went platinum and earned a handful of Grammy nominations. An all-out media blitz followed, including her appearance with Missy Elliot on a Super Bowl halftime show.
